Is Bielenda Cruelty Free and Vegan featured image

Bielenda is 100% cruelty free. None of their ingredients or finished products are tested on animals, by anyone, anywhere in the world.

However, Bielenda is not 100% vegan as a brand because some of their products contain animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products.

If you want to learn more about this cruelty free brand, keep on reading.

And if you’d like to discover some of the most popular Bielenda products, make sure to check out the last section of this post where I’ve listed some of their best-sellers.

Let’s dive right in!

Is Bielenda cruelty free? Are Bielenda products tested on animals?

Bielenda doesn’t test on animals and is 100% cruelty free.

I have confirmed that:

  • Bielenda’s finished products aren’t tested on animals by anyone, anywhere in the world
  • The ingredients used in their products are never tested on animals by anyone, anywhere in the world
  • Third parties never test Bielenda products on animals
  • Bielenda is not sold in mainland China, or in any country where animal testing is still required by law

Let’s look at their official animal testing policy:

We respect animal rights and for that reason our cosmetics are not tested on animals. What is more, we expect the same attitude from our business partners and suppliers.

Within 20 years on the Polish market Bielenda has gained a significant position and became one of the most recognized brands in Poland.

In parallel with Progress on the domestic market Bielenda gradually reaches a strong position on foreign markets. We are already selling our products to customers in France, Germany, UK, Latvia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, US, Canada, Greece, Ukraine, Kazakhstan…

However, that still wasn’t enough information for me, so I decided to reach out to them to make sure they’re truly cruelty free, and this was their answer:

We have received the PETA🐇Cruelty-Free certificate. Bielenda Kosmetyki Naturalne has become a member of the PETA Beauty Without Bunnies program. This is a confirmation – from the largest and most important animal rights organization in the world, that our company is cruelty-free, so it does not test cosmetics on animals and does not sell in countries where such tests are allowed.

It undertakes, inter alia, to support efforts to develop and promote alternative methods of testing the safety and efficacy of cosmetics with the aim of a complete ban on animal testing in the cosmetics industry.

The PETA🐇Cruelty-Free certificate also confirms that the business partners are properly verified and that they do not cooperate with suppliers who run, commission or – in any other way – agree to test their supplied ingredients, formulations or finished products on animals.

Together with the PETA🐇Cruelty-Free confirmation, we also received the PETA Vegan certificate for our vegan lines. This is another one – after Viva! for vegetarians and vegans – a prestigious certificate for this segment of the brand’s cosmetics.

Is Bielenda sold in China?

No, Bielenda products are NOT sold in physical stores in mainland China.

Why can’t cruelty free brands sell in mainland China?

Animal testing is still happening for products sold in physical stores in mainland China.

Pre-market animal testing is required for all special-use imported products, and non-routine post-market testing on animals may also be done in cases of customer complaints.

However, please keep in mind that this doesn’t apply to products sold in stores at the airports, or in Hong Kong.

Also, products can be sold online and shipped to mainland China without being tested on animals.
