Check out the entire analysis below and learn everything you need to know about iUNIK.

You can find a list of the best iUNIK products at the end of this post.

Let’s dive right in!

Is iUNIK cruelty free? Are iUNIK products tested on animals?

iUNIK doesn’t test on animals and is 100% cruelty free.

  • iUNIK’s finished products aren’t tested on animals by anyone, anywhere in the world
  • The ingredients used in their products are never tested on animals by anyone, anywhere in the world
  • Third parties never test iUNIK products on animals
  • iUNIK is not sold in mainland China, or in any country where animal testing is still required by law

iUNIK doesn’t have any cruelty free certifications, which is common for Korean brands.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Is iUNIK sold in China?

No, iUNIK products are NOT sold in physical stores in mainland China.

In fact, iUNIK products are currently only sold online!

Why can’t cruelty free brands sell in mainland China?

Animal testing is still mandatory for all imported products sold in physical stores in mainland China.

Pre-market animal testing is required for all imported products, and non-routine post-market testing on animals may also be done in cases of customer complaints.

However, please keep in mind that this doesn’t apply to products sold in stores at the airports, or in Hong Kong.

Also, products can be sold online and shipped to mainland China without being tested on animals.

Is iUNIK owned by a parent brand? If yes, is it cruelty free?

iUNIK is not owned by a parent company.

Is iUNIK vegan?

iUNIK is not 100% vegan. Some of their products are vegan, but iUNIK is not a completely vegan brand.

Non-vegan ingredients in iUNIK products include: snail filtrate, honey and propolis extract.

  1. Hi thankyou for your interesting and informative review. Could you please let me know if the iunik lime moisture mild peeling gel is suitable for vegans? It says it is vegan but it contains hydrolyzed collagen and I can’t seem to find any vegan hydrolyzed collagen online so am unsure if it is or not!

    1. Hi Anna!

I found online at The Vegan Abroad that all of iUNIK’s products are vegan except for the propolis serum, propolis sleeping mask, propolis eye cream, black snail serum, and black snail cream. So I am thinking that we can enjoy the lime peeling gel! I keep hearing that vegan forms of collagen exist so I’m hoping that site is correct.

You can always visit https://doublecheckvegan.com/ to see if the ingredients are vegan or not – it’s not a perfect tool, but very useful.
