The Body Shop is 100% cruelty free. None of their ingredients or finished products are ever tested on animals, in any part of the manufacturing process.

However, The Body Shop is not 100% vegan. However, they do have a lot of vegan options. Still, some of their products contain animal-derived ingredients, so therefore The Body Shop is not considered a vegan brand.

Is The Body Shop sold in China?

No, The Body Shop products are NOT sold in physical stores in mainland China.

Why can’t cruelty free brands sell in mainland China?

Animal testing is still happening for products sold in physical stores in mainland China.

Pre-market animal testing is required for all special-use imported products, and non-routine post-market testing on animals may also be done in cases of customer complaints.

However, please keep in mind that this doesn’t apply to products sold in stores at the airports, or in Hong Kong.

Also, products can be sold online and shipped to mainland China without being tested on animals.

Is The Body Shop owned by a parent brand? If yes, is it cruelty free?

The Body Shop is owned by Natura & Co, a company that is cruelty free.

Is The Body Shop vegan?

The Body Shop is not 100% vegan.

However, The Body Shop does have some vegan products.

They have committed to becoming 100% cruelty free by 2023.
