Is Purito Cruelty Free and Vegan? (2024 Update)

Purito doesn’t have any cruelty free certifications, which isn’t uncommon for Korean brands.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Is Purito sold in China?

No, Purito products are NOT sold in mainland China, where animal testing is still required by law.

Pre-market animal testing is required for all imported products, and non-routine post-market testing on animals may also be done in cases of customer complaints.

Is Purito owned by a parent brand? If yes, is it cruelty free?

Purito is owned by HINATURE Inc., a Korean company established in 2017.

HINATURE Inc. distributes a wide range of skincare products, including their own private brand Purito.

There’s very little information on HINATURE online, so I couldn’t figure out whether they’re 100% cruelty free or not.

However, since they don’t own any brands other than Purito (which is cruelty free), and they’re only a distributor for other cosmetics brands, they are cruelty free in my opinion.

Is Purito vegan?

Purito is 100% vegan. None of their products contain any animal-derived ingredients.

This means that every single Purito product is vegan, which is amazing.

They used to have a product containing snail filtrate, but have since decided to go 100% vegan and have discontinued that product.

I reached out to them to confirm this:

Could you clarify whether all Purito products are 100% vegan? Or, in other words: does Purito have any products that contain animal by-products or animal-derived ingredients?
My confusion stems from the PURITO Snail Repair Advanced Serum, which contains snail filtrate.
However, it seems that this product is not available anymore neither on your website, nor on Amazon and YesStyle.
Does Purito still produce and sell this product? Are all Purito products 100% vegan?

This is what they answered:

We decided to discontinue all the products which contain the snail filtrate to be 100% vegan brand.
We replaced all ingredients to other vegan ingredients for the new products.
Overall, we can confirm that all products of our brand are 100% vegan.

I’m so happy that they’re vegan, especially since there aren’t a lot of 100% vegan and cruelty free Korean skin care brands.

Is Purito a sustainable brand?

Yes, Purito tries to follow sustainable manufacturing practices as much as possible and uses recyclable packaging.

All of their products are packaged in recycled packaging and boxes.

Additionally, the packaging of Purito products is also biodegradable and recyclable.
